Our trail workhorse
Our favourite trail bike isn't imported, it's Colombian. AKT, a homegrown brand, builds the TTR 200 in Antioquia for exactly the terrain we ride: steep Sierra Nevada switchbacks, river crossings, washed-out dirt tracks and long, hot stretches of Caribbean highway. Its six-speed gearbox is the secret weapon: short low gears to crawl up the rocky climb to Minca, and a relaxed sixth to cruise the coast road towards La Guajira without the engine screaming. Add long-travel suspension, generous ground clearance, a light chassis and spare parts you can find in any village workshop, and you get a dual-sport that has nothing to envy Honda, and keeps you riding instead of waiting for parts.
